STEP Modules

Vessel Planning for STEP stands as a pivotal tool in enhancing the productivity of terminal operations.

Incorporating real-time data, this module offers robust solutions for scheduling vessels. Key functionalities include managing container load and discharge planning, equipment allocation, EDI messaging, and maximizing throughput capacity.

Yard provides a view of the terminal with real-time position allocation.

Position allocation is based on equipment capability and terminal strategies.

Equipment moves are controlled through work queues, shift lists, build-off sequences and position allocations. Various equipment types are supported, like straddle-carriers, reach-stackers, RTGs & RMGs and empty handlers.

Today, a growing integration with customs systems is required, through port community systems, third party or direct customs connections.

Customs procedures vary from a simple release indication to full cargo documentation. STEP is designed to allow customisation to your local situation.

The Billing module prepares one-time and recurring invoices based on STEP events.

Moves, storage and service related activities are mapped to a contract, rated and put on an invoice for your approval. Export to ERP and accounting systems are available. It supports Unitised & General Cargo, repairs and lashing materials used in the CFS.

Data capture with handheld & mobile devices ensures real-time operational control with STEP.

This module supports all in- and outdoor operations, such as loading vessels, confirming stack positions, CFS management and much more.

Linked with Yard and Vessel Planning allow full equipment control & visibility.

The General Cargo (GC) module of STEP handles non-unitised cargo (break-bulk) and is fully integrated with the TOS.

Load and discharge general cargo directly to and from vessel, truck, train and barge or use the CFS module to stuff & strip containers and Ro/Ro units.

EDIStep is the post office for all Electronic Data Interchange messages.

Originally developed for container terminals, EDIStep is the tool of choice to track, correct, send and receive all business related messages.

It allows changing the message on the fly ensuring that even non-standard messages can be transformed to a supported message structure. Today, EDIStep processes any type of structured message.

EDIStep is also available as a standalone messaging solution independent of the STEP TOS.

Create estimates, register approvals and perform container repairs.

Depots, or Terminals with depot functionality gain these key features to optimise the repair process on site.

Industry standard EDI messages, such as WESTIM and DESTIM are readily available.

eTerminal is the Internet gateway for the stakeholders of the terminal.

Lines, agencies, trucking companies and other business partners get direct access to the progress of the terminal operations, query unit information and are able to download several reports, such as daily moves, stock lists, load and discharge lists.

eTerminal allows for specific access and data policies  to restrict available data for each business partner / role.

Being the link between General Cargo and unitised cargo CFS plays a critical role in loading and unloading (stuffing and stripping) containers and Ro/Ro units.

Key are the available EDI connections and the operational monitoring / controlling features in real-time.

The Truck Appointment System is an add-on to eTerminal for trucking companies to reserve time slots.

The number of positions within a time slot can be managed by the terminal to match operational capacity and optimise resource planning.

Trucking companies can control the readiness of units and plan the arrival time of their trucks to reduce the dwell time.

Rail planning is an add-on to Yard as a tool to plan the discharge and loading of trains.

Load patterns per rail car type define car layout and prevents overloading.

Overloading of tracks is protected by the track characteristics.

Self service terminal for truck drivers.

Optionally with bio-metric sensors for driver identification and verification.

Integration with the Truck Appointment System allows for further terminal efficiency.
